You cannot force a flower to blossom before its time. You cannot force a caterpillar to transform into a butterfly before its time. Likewise, you cannot bring on tomorrow and all its mystery without going through today and picking up its gems.
You cannot become that learned and wise person you want to be without going through the years and having 'tadarruj' - ascending through known and fixed ranks of knowledge and wisdom. These are two things that cannot beat time. In fact, it is only with time that you can achieve this. So learn 'alif' then move on to 'ba' and soon you will have the Sciences of Tajwid, Qira'ah and even Arabic all under your belt.
Take your time with Islamic knowledge and do not rush to the ranks of the mujtahideen without your tool box, otherwise you risk the danger of saying about Allah and His Deen that which you do not know... And only fools go where Angels fear to tread.
